LINKING POWER BI WITH PRIMAVERA P6

In my 22 years of experience in Planning & Project Control across Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery and Power Plant Projects, I've come to realize that project controls reporting can be a real challenge.

Project controls reporting can be a tedious and time-consuming process.

For example, my Project Manager might ask me for a report on project progress with Actual Cost of Work Performed versus Earned Values in an S-curve or Histogram for a specific Date Range.

These types of understandable, concise reporting within short time periods are a big part of a project controller's role.

It’s important that we have the ability to create meaningful reports as quickly as possible.

Personally, I’ve spent a huge amount time on repetitive report creation in Excel or Access Data Base against tight project cut-offs.

Linking Power BI with Primavera P6 can empower Our project team with secure, on-demand access to crucial data, enabling data-driven decisions anytime, anywhere.

Over the last couple of years, I’ve started to use a combination of Power Query, PowerPivot and Power BI that allows me to gather data from a range of sources and turn them into nice-looking, understandable reports. And the best thing is that I can quickly make changes on the fly with ease.

This is the first time I designed a Primavera dashboard using Power BI software. This dashboard has more than 100 types of advanced formulas in DAX language and this dashboard connects to more than 120 tables located in the Primavera software database and extracts information and models.
It can be implemented in any other project and organization with any number of activities and can be changed and customized based on the needs of that organization.

I have prepared Many management dashboard templates that we can use for developing a sustainable business and outperform Our results.

A management dashboard is a tool used to present all important management KPIs in a single place, share insights with c-level executives in an efficient way, and empower the management to make fast and data-driven decisions based on the latest information.

Linking Power BI with Primavera P6 can empower Our project team with secure, on-demand access to crucial data, enabling data-driven decisions anytime, anywhere.

Project Controls dynamic dashboards

The main importance of dynamic dashboards is to simplify complex data and turn it into very simple and readable data by visualizing all the data inputs and displaying them as charts. These dashboards will help the project management field to turn complex data into instant actions.
Primavera P6 lets us make a professional schedule that calculates many principles that help us track projects successfully. These outputs need to be analyzed to take the perfect actions and these interactions between Power BI and Primavera P6 will help us meet this purpose.
